THE Israel Defence Forces have deepened their probes into possible ncidents of suspected wrongdoing by its soldiers during the Gaza war of earlier this year, according to a report in The Jerusalem Post.
According to the story, the IDF has asked for help from the human rights Israeli non-government organisation B’tselem to make contact with Palestinians in Gaza who have lodged complaints over the behaviour of some of the Israeli soldiers during the fighting.
Since the end of the war, B’tselem has coordinated the testimonies of close to 30 Palestinians for the IDF’s Military Police, the report said, citing anonymous sources.
Israel has come under intense international pressure to conduct internal investigations into the fighting in Gaza. The Israeli government has defended the actions of their military and resisted opening a public inquiry, but have instead focused their efforts on ensuring that the IDF’s own inquiry leaves no stone unturned, in the hopes that will satisfy their foreign critics.

disgusting! What probe??? why this??Discouraging IDF soldiers from defending Israel ?? the only human rights probe should be on Hamas!!
When Israel first announced it would cooperate with the UN enquiry into the Jenin massacre, the chief of staff threatened to rsign and Israel quickly withdrew permission for the inquiry. Why will it act differently now ?
